Local businesses donate materials and time to museum exhibit focused on Worcester community
FLEXcon Company, Inc., an innovator in adhesive coating and laminating, partnered with large format printer ICL Imaging to create a 60 foot multi-layered cityscape graphic at the EcoTarium in Worcester. FLEXcon donated its FLEXmark® promotional advertising film for ICL Imaging to print a graphic highlighting iconic Worcester area buildings that is being displayed at the local museum.
FLEXcon collaborated with ICL Imaging to select materials for printing and overlaminating that would adhere to custom designed and fabricated panels. Working closely together, the companies tested a number of products and identified a custom solution that provided the look the museum was after. The result was a custom FLEXmark film printed by ICL Imaging.
“We are thrilled to collaborate with our longtime customer, ICL Imaging, to offer materials to a non-profit institution that provides such a benefit to the local Worcester community,” said John Bennett, Vice President, Product Identification, FLEXcon. “Our account manager, Mark Mudgett, has worked with ICL Imaging for over 20 years and has developed this relationship to a place where we now partner on charitable projects. Giving back to local communal organizations allows us to positively impact the neighborhoods our employees live and work in.”
“FLEXcon embraced the project early on and was exceptionally quick to respond by providing as many materials as we were interested in testing,” said Dan Graham, Sales at ICL Imaging. “Working with FLEXcon for over 30 years we knew they would be a true partner, but the company went above and beyond to provide custom rolled film to accommodate our machinery.”
FLEXmark promotional advertising films make great house vinyls for wide-format digital printers. The high-performance solvent-based permanent and removable adhesive systems adhere well to a variety of application surfaces including ABS, acrylic, aluminum, stainless steel, HDPE, painted metal, styrene, painted wood, smooth painted non-vinyl wall board, glass, indoor floor surfaces and more.
This partnership continues FLEXcon’s longtime support of the EcoTarium, which includes Bennett’s involvement as an executive board member and trustee of the EcoTarium.
The City Science exhibit is now on display at the EcoTarium in Worcester.
