UV inkjet's high quality and flexibility stimulates production for family-owned printing company
Accu-Decal, Inc. of Philadelphia, PA, has become the first printing location in North America to install the new Jeti Mira flatbed digital printing system from Agfa Graphics. The Jeti Mira, which is being demonstrated at Agfa Graphics' booth (#3127) at the 2015 SGIA Expo in Atlanta, is a six-color plus white UV-inkjet printer with a dockable roll-to-roll option that enables printing on a wide variety of flexible media.
The system's overall flexibility is what attracted Accu-Decal, Inc. to the Jeti Mira. Accu-Decal, Inc. is a full service, family-owned digital and custom screen printing company that produces everything from decals and signage to intricate point of purchase displays.
"The current economy is challenging for business. We found ourselves at a crossroads and took a leap of faith. We decided to upgrade our digital press to the Jeti Mira and as a result, the door opened up to more business and new types of work," said Christine Simmons, Art Director/co-owner, Accu-Decal, Inc. "The Jeti Mira allows us to print at high resolution on various substrates at a much faster rate than before. This gives us the opportunity to produce more work for our existing clients. As a bonus, we are saving on ink and labor costs."
The Jeti Mira features a moving gantry for precision printing. The convenient 'Print & Prepare' technology allows operators to load one side of the table while the other is printing for increased productivity. The system is available with a table depth of either 63 inches or 126 inches against a width of 105 inches, accommodating a variety of both rigid and flexible substrates.
"We designed the Jeti Mira flatbed to produce stunning detail with razor-sharp text and topped it with versatility. The optional dockable RTR system is field upgradeable. There is also optional primer or varnish," said Deborah Hutcheson, Director of Marketing, Agfa Graphics, North America. "It also features highly advanced 'thin ink layer' pigment dispersion technology that keeps costs down and provides stunning-looking prints. Our inks deliver the lowest consumption costs per square meter in the industry."
The Jeti Mira is driven by the Asanti workflow software, which optimizes and automates the entire process. Asanti provides error-free jobs that are quickly and easily print-ready.
