Fogra, ECI and bvdm release resources for offset printing standard overhaul – these are immediately available to OneVision users with no update required
On 30 September 2015 Fogra, ECI and bvdm introduced their new characterisation data, offset profiles and control strips for the updated offset printing standard ISO 12647-2:2013. These updated resources, including new colour profiles, are available for free download from Fogra, ECI and bvdm. This also comprises new colour profiles "PSO Coated v3" based on characterisation data "FOGRA51", and "PSO Uncoated v3 (FOGRA52)" based on characterisation data "FOGRA52". These colour profiles have been adapted to the technical developments made in offset printing in recent years.
Several software publishers are now proudly announcing updates for their colour management applications in order to conform to the offset printing standard ISO 12647-2:2013. OneVision users, however, can just sit back and relax. No updates nor any changes to settings are required to use this new standard with OneVision. Simply choose the desired profile.
As future-proof solutions, OneVision applications support standard formats, e.g. ICC profiles up to the current version 4. That means new colour profiles like "PSO Coated v3", "PSO Uncoated v3 (FOGRA52)" or even the new colour profile "WAN-IFRAnewspaper26v5"from July are immediately usable in OneVision Software solutions after downloading them. And that's without any software update!
