For two days, Daniel Bartosch from the screen printing forge in Hamm, Westphalia, tested the entire range of inks and materials for textile screen printing from the ink and chemicals manufacturer FETEKS. The workshop in November 2019 was attended by, among others, the sales team of Lynx Germany, who are now selling the FETEKS range, and Tolga Oktay, Sales Manager of FETEKS. The screen printing team of HappyTexx GmbH from Grevesmühlen was also a guest. The conclusion: The users and guests were enthusiastic about the products. FETEKS' range of products includes PU- and acrylic-based water-based paints, plastisol and dishwasher systems and environmentally friendly products for all types of textiles. The product range is supplemented by auxiliaries and accessories for textile screen printing.
"The luminosity and opacity of FETEKS paints are very good. The mixing of pigments and basic systems worked very well, the colours always matched. The results, both with the screen motifs and full-tone prints, were very convincing." The conclusion of Jacqueline Warning, responsible for screen printing at HappyTexx, and Maik Gerwin, the specialist for the production of transfers at HappyTexx, was completely positive after the two-day workshop. Together with Managing Director Gabriele Muchow, they intend to accompany the market launch of the products of the Turkish manufacturer FETEKS in Germany in order to position the company HappyTexx well for the future. HappyTexx works with water-based ink systems, plastisol and distich inks on automatic screen printing carousels and used the workshop to try out all systems - with great success. Gabriele Muchow: "We are looking for a new colour system for HappyTexx for the future, the FETEKS products convinced us in the workshop. FETEKS is currently preparing its mixing system for the European market, which is essential for us. The manufacturer also offers sustainable dyes and additives, which is just as important for the future positioning of our company. We want to accompany this market launch and be the first European screen printing company to work with FETEKS". According to Philipp Klinger, Managing Director of the distribution partner Lynx Germany, the colour mixing system with the recipes is already available for the Turkish and Asian markets, the two main markets of FETEKS. They are currently being prepared for the European market. "Colours and solutions for GOTS-certified screen printing are also available", says Klinger.
Daniel Bartosch, owner of the screen printing forge, uses mainly water-based inks in his daily practice in manual screen printing, but he has also processed other ink systems. "The range of FETEKS products is really good and very broad, there is a real know-how behind it. For all colours there is a white and a clear base. The brilliance and opacity of the colours are convincing. And especially for the German-speaking market, it is important that information is available for all products as well as usable data sheets with detailed specifications," reports Bartosch.
The water-based paints are available on a PU and a hybrid basis with acrylic content. The acrylic paint systems are available in different versions for different areas of application. The plastisols, which are all free of plasticizers, are suitable for direct printing as well as for the production of transfers. There are also special inks for halftone screen, polyester, discharge and the cracking effect. FETEKS offers printable adhesives for working with films. Other auxiliaries and additives include retarders and hardeners, crosslinkers for increased wash resistance, pigments, spray and pallet adhesives, water and solvent-resistant screen emulsions, metallic films and screen printing mesh.
Lynx will present the range for the first time in the German-speaking market at the TV TecStyle Visions trade fair in Stuttgart from 30 January to 1 February.
