Large Format

Many signage and wide-format printers are stagnating. They are looking for new ways to improve their productivity and profitability. But how? The market demand for sophisticated automation software is steadily increasing. To answer these burning questions, Dataline, leading innovator of ERP solutions for signmaking and wide-format printing companies, will be at C!Print 2023 (stand 1A10).

"How can I increase productivity without sacrificing my profit margins?"
MultiPress is ERP software designed specifically for the needs of an advertising technology and print production company. It automates your administration and production and reduces the time spent on repetitive administrative tasks, pricing and data management. To date, more than 1,000 companies across Europe have successfully implemented the software and more than 10,000 employees use it every day.
Here are the three main benefits you can enjoy with MultiPress:
Administrative simplification: CRM, quotations, costing, production planning, invoicing and shipping become one linked data chain. This significantly reduces errors and increases order throughput. The process is completely end-to-end from online ordering to on-site assembly. In addition, MultiPress understands your signage and large format business and calculates all costs and times of all printing and finishing techniques used.
Production automation: MultiPress not only streamlines your management and planning. It also saves, checks and repairs files in preflight, performs imposition, benefits or other production optimisations. This eliminates repetitive tasks, avoids errors and removes bottlenecks.
Quality control: Automating administration and production in an integrated workflow means a significant reduction in errors and also guarantees production reliability down to the smallest detail.
Dirk Deroo, CEO of Dataline, confirms: "The European signage and large format printing industry is growing: these companies are professionalising at a rapid pace. Many of these often young and dynamic companies are looking for modular and scalable software solutions to simplify their management and speed up their production," says Dirk Deroo. "Unlike generic project management software or other packages for the graphic arts industry, MultiPress has the specific functionalities and continuous innovations to support these companies now and in the future. Once implemented, our customers experience a rapid increase in productivity and profitability."
Meet MultiPress 5.4 Polaris, the latest MultiPress version
Dataline has launched version 5.4 of MultiPress in September 2022 under the name "Polaris". This latest version includes enhancements to familiar MultiPress features, but also a whole host of new features that can help signmaking and large format businesses.
Calculate the exact environmental impact of printing with the CO2 calculation in MultiPress: Based on the total emission of the different production processes and the specific emission data of the substrate used and the planned transport, the total emission is calculated, which you can then add to quotations and orders.
Calculate print packages: With MultiPress 5.4 you can calculate the weight and volume of print jobs more accurately and quickly. The primary, secondary and tertiary packaging of print products can be defined in practical templates.
More accurate calculation of transports: Numerous options have been added to the calculation of transports. This makes it easier to include own transports and external forwarding companies with their own rates and deadlines in the calculation, even for complex shipments or special formats.
More than time recording: Recording is now more than just passing on production time. The operator can also transmit information about the material consumed. During registration, the stocks are then automatically deducted.
Imposition, form nesting and other combinations: MultiPress offers a range of solutions for arranging different (partial) jobs on a printing substrate. Thanks to these precise job calculations, the job manager can immediately send the prepared files to RIPs, printers or finishing machines without any further intervention by operators.
Connection with Caldera PrimeCenter: For signmaking and wide-format printers looking to automate their production even further, Dataline has implemented a certified connection to PrimeCenter. With PrimeCenter, the prepress workflow from Caldera and Zünd, different production queues from different production lines can be prepared and fed from the prepress workflow. Through the connection to MultiPress, these can now be added directly from the administration and order management. For example, e-commerce orders can be forwarded directly from the order portal to the corresponding production without manual intervention.
Payment with QR and other barcodes: You can easily add a unique QR code to each invoice, allowing you to select which payment platforms are applicable.
Electronic invoicing: Thanks to a partnership with Storecove, MultiPress now offers a connection to PEPPOL, a convenient and above all secure way to exchange electronic invoices.
Certified partners for better automation
The MultiPress ERP software is directly linked to many of the printing industry's most popular software and hardware providers. This growing network of MultiPress Certified Technology Partners enables MultiPress users to take advantage of a variety of standardised connections to third-party software and hardware.
These connections include:
Prepress, Workflows, RIPS and Presses: Agfa, Caldera, Enfocus, SwissQPrint, Zund, Canon, Mimaki, Roland, ....
e-Business platforms and software: Aleyant Pressero, Woo-Commerce, Magento, XMPIE.
Software for accounting and finance
Catalogues for substrates: Antalis, Papyrus, ...
Software for warehousing, shipping and logistics: Unifaun, nShift, Bumbal, ...
Through the merger, Dataline Solution will be able to offer even more powerful solutions and integrations to its customers, who will benefit from the various automation possibilities made possible by this collaboration.
Dirk Deroo, CEO of Dataline, added: "Dataline has been a software partner for graphic production companies for 25 years. We have always been at the forefront of innovation and will continue to be. We are taking automation to the next level, far beyond the administrative automation offered by generic software. We will inspire entrepreneurs at C!Print and show them how to avoid obstacles and break free from the clutches of stagnation."
